‘Babar Azam Is In A League Of His Own’- Twitter Reacts As Babar Azam Registers Yet Another Century

Babar Azam is having a dream run in Test Cricket. After registering his highest score in Test cricket against Australia earlier this year he got to his 7 Test century against Sri Lanka on Sunday.

The century came in at a time when Pakistan was struggling in response to Srilanka’s 222. Pakistan was reduced to 85-7 at one point but Babar put together important partnerships with Hasan Ali and Yasir Shah and brought Pakistan closer to Sri Lanka’s first innings score.

Pakistan lost their 9th wicket on 148 and it looked like Sri Lanka will take a substantial lead but Naseem Shah supported Babar well and Pakistan came very close to Srilanka’s total.

In the first innings, Shaheen Shah Afridi had picked 4 wickets and despite Dinesh Chandimal’s half-century, Sri Lanka managed only 222 in their first innings. Their innings too followed a similar pattern as Pakistan too had a chance to bowl Sri Lanka bowl out for under 200 but Theekshana’s 38 put Sri Lanka above 220.

One thing would worry Pakistan though as at the moment only Babar Azam seems to be scoring all the runs while the likes of Imam-Ul-Haq and Azhar Ali have struggled. Fawad Alam were dropped from this Test despite being one of the top performers for Pakistan in recent times.

For Srilanka, it was yet again Prabath Jayasurya who was the wrecker in chief as he picked 3 consecutive fifers of his career after picking up 12 wickets in his debut match against Australia.

Babar’s century saw social media praising his innings.

This is how Twitter reacted:
