Hardik Pandya, who served as vice-captain in the recently ended home series against South Africa, has gradually worked his way into the Indian team’s leadership group. The all-rounder, on the other hand, is unconcerned, preferring to concentrate on the task at hand and lead India to victory against Ireland.

Hardik, who served as vice-captain in the just-finished home series against South Africa, has gradually risen through the ranks of the Indian team’s captaincy. But the all-rounder is not concerned; instead, he wants to concentrate on the task at hand and help India defeat Ireland. “I do not have anything to show anyone, so understand me. My opportunity to lead India is significant in and of itself. I do not participate in this sport to impress anyone. I am competent.”

When asked if he would like to demonstrate to the team management that he can be a captain in the future, Hardik said in a virtual press conference on Saturday.
“I will see in the future, but for the time being, I am simply focused on what I can contribute to this series,” he continued.

‘We want to play with the best XI’: Hardik Pandya

India would start with their strongest lineup, but Hardik added that they would also be open to trying other combinations.

“We want to give individuals a chance, but we also want to play with the best XI possible. However, there will be instances where we will hand out caps to individuals. The goal is to field the strongest XI possible when we enter the field. Thus, that will be the main focus, “He Added.

Two matches against Ireland therefore might be the last opportunity to try out youngsters ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia later this year.
