IND vs PAK: Hardik Pandya Is Phenomenal, He Is An Asset, Claims Deep Dasgupta

Ex-India cricketer Deep Dasgupta claimed all-rounder Hardik Pandya is one of “the main asset of the team” at the Asia Cup 2022. He also urged one can keep faith in him and expect the desired results.

The 28-year-old all-rounder is in the form of his life as he inspired India to a 5-wicket win against Pakistan in the group fixture of the continental tournament. He rattled Pakistan’s middle order and took three wickets before hitting a quickfire 33 not out off 17 balls to take India home.

Deep Dasgupta opined that Hardik gave some good results with his bowling during the IPL 2022. Deep Dasgupta said in his preview ahead of the IND vs PAK clash to MyKhel, “These days Hardik is the main asset of the team. The way he bowled against Pakistan in the group match was phenomenal. I think, he was not feeling confident in his bowling before the IPL. But from the mid-IPL 2022 season, he started bowling his full quota of overs and showed some good results too. He bowled well when India toured for some overseas T20s.

Deep Dasgupta gives plaudits, says Hardik Pandya has ‘leadership qualities’

“And apart from bowling, Hardik scores big runs in number 5 or 6 positions, and it helps India to set a big score on the board. When India needs 15 runs per over in slog overs, he’s the player in him you can keep the faith and expect the desired results.”

Deep Dasgupta further said that Hardik has the “leadership quality” to lead India’s bowling department in the coming future. “Hardik has that leadership quality too. He can lead India’s bowling unit in the nearest future, I think. His performance will be vital for India, not just against Pakistan but in future matches as well.”
