Rashid Khan and Danushka Gunathilaka were involved in a heated argument during Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan clash in the Super Fours leg of the Asia Cup 2022. The Sri Lanka batter hit Khan for a boundary following which the Afghanistan bowler was seen saying something to the batter. Rashid Khan dismissed Gunathalika in the same over later.
Sri Lanka pulled off a major upset, beating Afghanistan by 4 wickets in the Super 4 opener. With that, Dasun Shanaka & Co also avenged their humiliating loss in the Asia Cup 2022 opener. Rahmanullah Gurbaz helped Afghanistan post 175/5 but impactful innings from Kusal Mendis, Danushka Gunathilaka and Bhanuka Rajapaksa helped them chase the target with 5 balls to spare.

Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka Match recap
Afghanistan set a 176-run target for Sri Lanka in the first Super 4 clash. Rahmanullah Gurbaz was the star with the bat, hammering 45-ball 84. He was well supported by Ibrahim Zadran as the duo added 93 runs for the 2nd wicket. But Sri Lanka fought back at the death, conceding just 37 runs in the last five overs while taking 5 wickets.
Also, Danushka Gunathilaka played a good 33-run knock before being castled by Rashid Khan in the 17th over. In the end, Bhanuka Rajapaksa (31) and Wanindu Hasaranga’s (16) brilliant power-hitting helped Sri Lanka clinch the victory.
Earlier, captain Dasun Shanaka won the toss and opted to bowl first. Mohammad Nabi-led Afghanistan is happy to bat first and put up a tough target for Sri Lanka in the Super 4 clash. While Sri Lanka is unchanged, Afghanistan have made one change.
